Investigation And Stabilisation Of Mine Workings
We have extensive experience of the investigation, assessment and stabilisation of former underground mine workings for various minerals, (coal, ironstone, limestone and salt), and their associated mine entries, (shafts & adits, etc.).
Our range of project experience includes the investigation of areas adjacent to existing occupied buildings, using mini access rigs fitted with dust suppression equipment, through to
the whole scale treatment of large 'brownfield' sites for housing developments.
Services offered include:
- Mining desk studies.
- Reviews of archived records held at the Coal Authority Mining Records Office, the Local County records office and other archives.
- Arrangement and supervision of drilling investigations utilising both rotary openhole and where necessary rotary core drilling techniques.
- Specification, management and supervision of remedial stabilisation works.
- Production of validation and completion reports, including liaison and submission with the Coal Authority, etc.
